Introduction: CSC112, Introduction to BASIC programming language. It exposes students to development, coding and debugging. Visual Basic is a Microsoft version of BASIC (Beginners All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code). Initially VB was a functional and procedural language until the introduction of Visual Basic 2010 a fully fledged object oriented programming language which has caught up with the likes of C, C++, Java, C# and others. Course objectives: 1. To introduce object oriented programming in such a way that students will develop interest in coding skills 2. To help understand the fundamental of computer theories.

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

i)                    explain the historical development of computers from 1st generation to-date.

ii)                  identify and explain the basic components of computers.

iii)                identify and Explain ICT tools.

iv)                define computer and identify the basic classification of computers.
